Connection states

Each device in your van now has a clear status — "Available" or "Connected" — so the app-store catalogue always tells you whether it's ready to plug in and use.

What each state means

Every device in the catalogue shows one of ten states. They tell you, at a glance, whether the device is ready to use, needs a small action from you, or has hit a problem.

State What it means
Available The code is shipped and the device is ready to install.
Detected The system has seen the device on your van and is figuring out what it is.
Ready to connect The device is set up and waiting for you to link it to your dashboard.
Connecting The device is linking up to your dashboard right now.
Connected The device is wired into your RoamCore and showing live readings.
Needs information The device needs a small piece of information from you before it can finish setting up.
Needs attention The device is working but something needs a quick look from you.
Unsupported The device is detected but RoamCore cannot work with it yet.
Offline The device is not reachable right now.
Update available The device is working but a newer version is ready to install.

What you see on screen

Each device in the catalogue shows a small coloured chip beside its name. The chip colour and label tell you the state at a glance — green means good, yellow means you need to do something small, red means something needs your attention.

You see the same chip on the device's own page and on the catalogue index. The chip is the same on your phone and on the in-van dashboard.

What you do (or don't do)

For most devices, you do nothing. Devices in "Available" or "Connected" are working as expected. If a chip shows "Needs information", open the device's page — it will tell you exactly what to enter (usually a one-time setup step). If a chip shows "Needs attention", open the device's page to see what to check. You don't need to memorise the states — the dashboard always tells you what to do next.

What to do if it goes wrong

If a device shows a state that doesn't match what you see in the van, refresh the dashboard once — if the chip still doesn't match, the device's page will tell you what to check.
